Well, being a single lady on Vday I didn’t have much hope for today, but I’m just a sucker for pink and red hearts and lacy doilies I secretly harbor a romantic soft spot for the holiday. 

And today went completely wonderfully in all the best ways! 

First off, I won an award for my Graphic Design project, it was a valentine’s day box contest which was judged by Hallmark people. Super exciting, I’ve never won anything for my design work before, I’m completely thrilled. 

Now, the real magical part!

As I was getting to the train home, a guy asked me which side of the track such and such train was on, and I was surprised because he had an irish accent (and a real cutie to boot!)

Turns out we were on the same train and we sat together and had a really nice conversation. I was seriously giddy on the inside, I have a huge weakness for accents, especially Irish ones. His stop was before mine, and before he left he asked my number and wished me a happy valentine’s day (in that adorable accent!!) 

Once he left I just dissolved into girlish giggles, and two old ladies sitting behind me laughed and said “That’s just the best feeling in the world, isn’t it!” 

So, stay hopeful fellow singles of Tumblr, it just goes to show you that a happy encounter can happen at any time. I’ve been so busy lately with school work (hard work that paid off with my award!) that I haven’t had the time to be morose over being so lonely. And that’s when I met someone wonderful, when I wasn’t even looking.
